In short
Fluted kitchen doors are cabinet fronts with a machined linear profile in real timber veneer. Fluted Studio makes them to the millimetre in European oak or American walnut on a moisture-resistant MDF core (about 21.5 mm thick), unfinished or lacquered on both sides, with finished edges and hinge drilling available.

What to know before you order.
Which kitchen surfaces suit fluting
Base and wall cabinet doors, drawer fronts, tall larder doors, appliance panels and exposed end panels all work well. Many kitchens mix fluted fronts on an island or one run with plain fronts elsewhere so the texture reads as a deliberate feature.
Choosing a profile for kitchen fronts
Fine linear profiles such as Oxford or Windsor are easy to live with and keep the kitchen calm. Broader rhythms like Georgian or Cornwall make a stronger statement on islands and larders. Reeded profiles such as Soho give a softer, more tactile front.
Handles, hinges and drilling
Tell us how many hinge holes and handle positions each door needs when you order. We confirm the exact positions with you and send a confirmation drawing before anything is made. Push-to-open and integrated pull details can be discussed.
Lining up the flutes across a run
For a run of doors and drawers we can sequence the veneer and line up the profile so the elevation reads as one continuous surface. Send the full elevation with gaps and the order of fronts.
Framed fluted fronts
A fluted centre with a mitred flat timber border gives a classic shaker-style front. Choose “Decorative frame” in the configurator instead of finished edges — it runs around all four sides at £30 per metre + VAT.

01Are fluted kitchen doors hard to clean?
Not with the right profile and finish. Lacquered fronts wipe clean; finer flutes collect less than deep scallops. Avoid very deep profiles directly beside a hob.
02Can you supply doors for an IKEA or existing kitchen carcass?
Yes. Give us the finished door sizes and hinge positions for your carcass system and we make fronts to suit. We confirm drilling with a drawing before production.
03Are the doors moisture resistant?
The core is moisture-resistant MDF and lacquer protects both faces. Fronts are not designed for standing water, so wipe spills promptly, particularly around sinks and dishwashers.
04Can I mix fluted and plain fronts?
Yes. Many clients flute the island or tall units only. Plain veneered fronts in the same timber can be quoted to match.
05How much do fluted kitchen doors cost?
Use the configurator for a live price. As a guide, oak fronts start from £275 per m² plus edges and finish; walnut from £335 per m². Prices exclude VAT and delivery, with a £250 minimum order.
